Where is located Cuesta Serena exactly?

The shelter is 25 minutes north from the city of Huaraz in Anta’s district, Lat.(DMS)S 9o21′ 54″ and Long. (DMS) W 77o35′24″ at an altitude of (8,533 ft. asl). Get off the main road and enter asecondary dusty road which leads to a picturesque pathway that crosses a ravine where you will run into two small concrete and eucalyptus bridges which will lead you into Cuesta Serena to a Shangri La of serenity!!


What is the Temperature at Cuesta Serena?

While on the coast during the month of March reaches the 86 degrees Farenheit as a maximum and 55 degrees as a minimum during the month of July up in the Sierra at Cuesta Serena the temperature reaches 82 and as an average and 46.4 degrees as a minimum in the month of February. During the early hours of the day it warms up to 72 degrees Farenheit by noon. May thru the end of August it is known as the “Andean Summer” During this season no rain is observed as oppose to November thru April which is the rainy season. All country side becomes deep green.


What things must I take to Cuesta Serena?

……There are not many things you need to bring. Simplicity is the key. Leave behind at home your valuables. Rather, bring a warm jacket, heavy wool socks, corduroy pants, trekking boots, long sleeve shirts for nights and short sleeves for day wear. A cap or a hat. Your pj’s, tooth paste and a brush, and bug repellent. In addition it would be wise to bring along sun blocker, moisturizing cream and chap sticks for lips. Last but not least, your video recorder and your photo camera with plenty of film because the photo opportunities will astound you. While you stay “Cuesta Serena” we will provide you with a very fluffy robe, shampoo, soap, electric hair drier, and a baton for your country walks.Occasionally you will need an umbrella during rainy days which we will supply you with.

What things you won’t find at Cuesta Serena?

You will not find radios, clocks, newspapers or TV. sets. However the shelter has its own Ipod with selected music and songs. We do not encourage the use of cell phones although we understand its need at occasions. We try our best to make you forget your routine back home and disconnect you from the outside world. Our aim is to infuse all our guests with a huge dose of tranquility and serenity.
